Types of Advertising
Why do advertisers use different types of advertising for different situations?
Types of Advertising
Display Ads - Digital display advertising is graphic advertising on Internet websites, apps or social media through banners or other advertising formats made of text, images, animations, video, and audio. The main purpose of display advertising is to deliver general advertisements and brand messages to site visitors.
Social Media Ads - Social network advertising, also social media targeting, is a group of terms that are used to describe forms of online advertising that focus on social networking services. Social networks utilize user information to serve highly relevant advertisements based on interactions within a specific platform.
Newspapers and Magazines - These are print ads that run in local or national magazines or newspapers. When it comes to print advertising, most people think of the large, glossy, national publications full of big brand advertisers. Typically, magazines present high quality images. This allows for the best representation of your product. Newspapers and direct mail are slightly less effective as they don't provide the same portrayal for your advertisements.
Outdoor Advertising - Outdoor advertising, also known as out-of-home advertising, is advertising that reaches consumers when they are outside their homes. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America says that's where consumers spend 70 percent of their time. Outdoor advertising can deliver a relevant message to the mass/targeted audience with ease and efficiency. This advertising medium offers consistency as well as stability when it comes to delivering brand awareness. It is able to provide more clarity regarding the focus of the brand.
Radio and Podcasts - Radio and podcast advertising are a digital audio platform reaching 73 million mobile listeners every month, who are open to hearing your brand's message. The most effective radio and podcast ads are voiced by the hosts themselves, in their own words and style. Listeners pay attention and remember what they hear.
Direct Mail and Personal Sales - Advertising mail, also known as direct mail, junk mail, mailshot or admail, is the delivery of advertising material to recipients of postal mail.
Video Ads - Video advertising encompasses advertisements that occurs before, during and/or after a live or pre-recorded video stream.
Event Marketing - Event marketing is the experiential marketing of a brand, service, or product through memorable experiences or promotional events. It typically involves direct interaction with a brand's representatives. It should not be confused with event management, which is a process of organizing, promoting and conducting events.
Email Marketing - Email marketing is the act of sending a commercial message, typically to a group of people, using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. It involves using email to send advertisements, request business, or solicit sales or donations.
